The presence of an honor code is vital to the Building Community Campaign, which is striving to develop a welcoming and supportive climate in which all people are respected and free to express differing ideals and opinions. A sense of mutual trust is critical to achieving such a community.

The University of Colorado Honor Code works by receiving the support and participation of all members in the university community. Students, in particular, are invaluable to the honor code process. The Honor Code office is administered by students and all hearing panels are composed of trained student volunteers. Such an organization is intended to promote a campus culture that consciously upholds the tenets of academic integrity, and moral and ethical conduct. Accordingly, the University of Colorado expects that all students be familiar with the policies concerning academic misconduct. On this website students can find information concerning the various functions and procedures of the Honor Code, as well as other resources outside of our office.
