The Honor Code Hearing Panel is responsible for determining the culpability of students who have denied responsibility for one or more alleged Honor Code violations. Panelists have the responsibility of reviewing all case materials in advance of the hearing. During the hearing, panelists listen to the evidence presented and ask questions of the accused student and any other witnesses that may be present. The panel then retires to deliberate. After deliberation, votes are cast as to whether or not the accused student is responsible for violating the Honor Code. If the student is found responsible the panel then decides upon appropriate nonacademic sanctions.
Hearing panelists are selected for a case based on their weekly availability, their class standing, their college/school, and their major.
